Medicinal Herbal Workshop
We are partnering with our Local Herbalist, Katie Huckabone, to discover native plants in our local area, be educated in their medicinal benefits and formulate & create a medicinal salve. This workshop is a two-part session, 6 weeks apart. You will take part in the complete process of identification, harvesting and preparation of the plants to create your very own unique salve to take home! A Barbecue Lunch/Dinner will be provided by Forest Cove Farm for both sessions.
PART 1: Tuesday June 11, 2019 @ 10-1; 4:30-7:30
Part 1 will include identification of plants growing on the Forest Cove property, education in their specific health benefits and harvesting the plants which will be used in the salve. We will then use the harvested plants which will be infused in natural oils for the final product.
PART 2: Tuesday July 23, 2019 @ 10-1; 4:30-7:30
During the second part, we will delve deeper into the medicinal health benefits of the specific flora harvested for the Salve, as well as create the salve. Herbal salves are an effective yet simple way to harness the healing powers of plants while bringing soothing properties to your skin. Please remember to bring your oils from Part 1 with you!
Please dress accordingly as this is an outdoor workshop, and will take place rain or shine! All supplies will be provided. Also, please contact us if you are not able commit to both sessions as we can make arrangements to ensure you’re not left out of the exciting medicine making process!
See you at the farm, to Explore the Forest and Reap the Benefits!
